Abstract

The evolving Iran-China-Russia axis represents a significant shift in global power dynamics, challenging U.S. hegemony in the Middle East. This research employs a scenario-building approach to explore potential trajectories of this alliance and its implications for global geopolitics. Four possible scenarios are considered: (1) Strengthened Multipolar Bloc, where deepening economic and military cooperation solidifies a counterweight to U.S. influence; (2) U.S. Strategic Containment, where Washington strengthens alliances with Gulf states and NATO to limit Iran-China-Russia expansion; (3) Proxy Conflicts and Regional Instability, where heightened tensions escalate into military confrontations in the Middle East; and (4) Diplomatic Equilibrium, where diplomatic negotiations lead to a balanced regional order. The study analyzes key drivers, including energy politics, military alliances, economic sanctions, and technological partnerships, to assess how each scenario could unfold. The findings suggest that while Iran, China, and Russia share common interests, internal economic challenges and regional complexities may shape the extent of their cooperation. Understanding these scenarios is crucial for policymakers to anticipate shifts in global power and formulate adaptive strategies. This research contributes to the broader discourse on multipolarity, strategic alliances, and great power competition, offering insights into the future of international relations.
