One of the names that introduced a new tone in modern ghazal is Qamar Raza Shahzad. His full name is Syed Qamar Raza, he was born on October 1, 1958 in Kabirwala. After formal education, he passed the Public Service Commission exam and served in many areas during his service. He started writing poetry in 1980 and this series is still ongoing. In addition to several poetry collections, a few months ago, a collection of poems called "Khak-e-Zar" was also published. In the poetry that was created and poets that came to the fore in the wake of the political and social situation in Pakistan after the 1980s, contemporary sensibility or contemporary consciousness can be seen as a clear trend. Especially after independence, the political, economic, social and cultural crisis that arose in the country has been an important theme for the poets of this era. Similarly, by analyzing the intellectual foundations of Qamar Raza Shahzad's poetry, the situation and anguish of today's man can be clearly felt. In some places, this reflection of contemporary conditions is clearly visible, but in others it takes the form of metaphors and similes. Political and contemporary awareness is essential for every poet, because the artist is also a part of the same turbulent world in which you and I live. In Qamar Raza Shahzad, a strong reaction is seen against social injustices, violation of human values, social and moral degradation, and disrespect for humanity. He laments the helplessness of those who, instead of confronting the situation, surrender to the oppressor.
